RESEARCH. RISK MANAGEMENT. IT'S TIME TO BREAK THE MOLD.
Ann Green, Senior Partner, Corporate Innovation and Solutions, Millward Brown
This session will share how the research function is more important than ever in understanding the consumer. While some insights teams are being disintermediated and undervalued within their organizations, they in fact hold the keys to the kingdom. What myths about market research caused this movement and how can they be debunked?!
John Gagne, Executive Creative Director, Atmosphere Proximity
Great creative will always rule. But getting to the right idea, selling it to client and bringing it to market have never been harder. It takes a new breed of advertising professionals to succeed at the intersection of communications, technology and global culture.
We'll look at two case studies - one a global brand restaged for success in North America, the other a Cannes Lions awarded "rogue" campaign that initially everyone rejected.
WHAT'S TRENDING IN MEDIA
We'll spend 30-minutes hearing from the Masters of their craft address the top 3 trending areas:
Trading Desks: Programmatic Buying presented by Chris Paul, General Manager, Audience on Demand, ViVaki
Digital Video presented by Alvin Bowles, CEO, Grab Media/SVP Video, blinkx, Grab Media, A Blinkx Company
Mobile presented by Jason Newport, SVP, Head of Mobile Strategy, Aegis Media

Sloane Humphrey, President, Powell Communications
THE PITCH: SHARPENING YOUR NEW BUSINESS TOOLS copresented by
Kristen Cavallo, Chief Strategy Officer, Mullen and a Ad Age A Lister for 2013 and Donna Wiederkehr, CMO, Aegis Media N.A.
Saneel Radia, Director of Innovation, ViVaki and Founder, Finch15
This session will consist of a deep dive into an oft overused term in the advertising industry: innovation. The focus is not how to make innovative advertising, but how to innovate products and services on behalf of brands. Saneel will define innovation (since no one else seems to want to), explore key trends in the space and articulate different models of innovation for both big and small companies. He will specifically address the role a brand plays in a company's innovation agenda, but will not address the fact that he will be stealing material liberally from smarter innovators than himself like Clay Christensen.
