David Lawenda is VP, Global Sales, US, within the Global Marketing Solutions team at Facebook. David leads the US sales team at Facebook, overseeing marketing relationships with the leading brands and agencies in the country, and specifically managing the growth of six key verticals: CPG/Pharma/Health Care, Automotive, Travel/Financial Services, Technology/Telecomm, Entertainment/Government, and Retail/E-commerce/Pro Serve/Restaurants.
Prior to joining Facebook, David worked at Univision, where he led sales and marketing (a team of 1000+ that produced $2.25B in annual revenue) for all of the broadcaster’s media assets, and Viacom, where he helped launch and brand both SpikeTV and UPN. Lawenda also spent time at Turner Broadcasting and began his career at DDB Needham.
For several years, David has served on the Ad Council TV Steering Committee and is a committed member of the Benefit Committee for The Valerie Fund, which helps children with cancer and blood disorders. He also serves on the Advisory Committee for the Donna Salvatore Fund for Storytelling, a funding source for Young Audiences of New York, which provides arts education to students. In addition, David is also a member of the IAB Board of Directors. While at Univision, David served on the Advisory Board for the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies, and at MTVN, he was an integral member of the Global Inclusion Strategy Advisory Committee.
David graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
