Global Head of Media Solutions Sales, ZEFR
As ZEFR’s Global Head of Media Solutions Sales, Rick is in charge of scaling the company’s advertising efforts and deepening its relationships with the world’s largest advertisers and ad agencies. He leads ZEFR’s growing global ad sales organization, which is responsible for selling innovative video campaigns and ZEFR’s proprietary targeting tools to the top global brands, to help them reach their most influential fans in social video.
Most recently, Rick was EVP at Clear Channel Media + Entertainment and launched national digital sales for iHeartRadio, building its first nationwide digital sales team. Under Rick’s leadership, national digital revenue grew 70% in 2013, which included many of the largest global advertisers. He also oversaw the successful sponsored launches of iHeartTalk and NickRadio, and founded Clear Channel’s first Digital Advisory Board.
Rick is a 20+ year media sales veteran and has worked in Digital since 1996. Prior to Clear Channel, he was at Microsoft Advertising for six and a half years, last serving as GM, Eastern US, where he led four-fold revenue growth and presided over a sales and service organization of 200. In 2008, he founded “Microsoft Digital Showcase”, the company's first video upfront. Earlier, Rick held sales leadership posts at Yahoo!, Forbes and he began his sales career at Ziff-Davis.
Rick is active in the ad community and serves on the Executive Board of The Advertising Club of NY. He was honored in 2010 with the Ad Club’s “President’s Award” for his work on its MediaAction Committee for Diversity. From 2008 to 2011 Rick served as President and Board Director for the 212 NYC Interactive Ad Club. He has been an IAB MIXX Awards juror since 2010 and is a founding member of the IAB’s Sales Certification program. Rick holds a BA from Carnegie Mellon University.
