EVP, National Digital Sales, Clear Channel Media + Entertainment
In his role as Executive Vice President of National Digital Sales, Rick oversees Clear Channel's digital sales and strategy, working closely with the company's national divisions including Strategic Partnerships, National Programming Platforms, National Advertising and iHeartRadio, Clear Channel's industry-leading digital radio service. Rick leads a U.S. sales organization focused on developing innovative advertising programs for Fortune 500 brands and the leading ad agencies, leveraging Clear Channel’s scale and unique digital assets.
Rick is a 20+ year media sales and management veteran and has spent the last 16 years working in Digital. Prior to Clear Channel, he worked at Microsoft Advertising for six and a half years, last serving as the GM for Eastern U.S. Sales, presiding over a sales and service organization of 200. At Microsoft, Rick oversaw four-fold revenue growth, leading sales across Microsoft’s digital portfolio including MSN, MSNBC, XBOX Live, Video, Branded Content and Mobile. In 2008, he founded Microsoft Digital Showcase, the company's first video Upfront and his team led advancement in multi-screen marketing, selling the first 3-screen ad campaign. Rick previously held various sales leadership roles at Yahoo! and Forbes.com and began his sales career at Ziff-Davis Publishing.
Rick co-chairs The Advertising Club of New York’s MediaAction Committee on Diversity and in 2010 was honored with the Ad Club’s “President Award.” From 2008 to 2011 he served as a Board Director and President of the 212 NYC Interactive Ad Club. Rick was on the Founding Commission for the IAB’s Digital Media Sales Certification program and since 2009 has served on the IAB MIXX Awards Jury. Rick is based in New York and holds a B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University.
