Mobile Video Advertising: A Look Ahead

Video consumption is increasing rapidly, particularly on mobile. Video is the number one source of information for two-thirds of people around the world, and more than 75% of all video viewing is done on a mobile device. This presents advertisers with an opportunity to connect with consumers in a meaningful way, on their most-used device, via their preferred media method.

With this opportunity comes various challenges. Too often, advertisers pay for ads that are only partially visible to the consumer, which limits memorability and wastes ad budget. Thankfully, there is a solution.During this event, Ogury will present new insights and lead a conversation with brands on why mobile video is growing at such a rapid rate. They share tactical suggestions on how to implement impactful, cost-optimized branding campaigns.

Katherine Ernest, VP Digital Marketing & Media, NA, Mastercard 

Katherine Fowler Ernest is Vice President of US Digital Marketing and Media at Mastercard, responsible for all aspects of media and digital programs for the US to drive both brand and business objectives. After spending more than a decade at tech platforms Yahoo! and Amazon, Katherine returned to the brand side of the business. Prior to Yahoo! Katherine was at American Express working within their Global Advertising team. She brings a diverse and commercial perspective, an understanding of the media landscape and the complexities of reaching the consumer with a cross channel lens with technology as an enabler. Passionate mother of two, in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her sons and playing Pickleball with friends.

Shannon Haydel, Director, Global Brand Media, Hotels.com

Shannon Haydel, Director of Global Media at Hotels.com (an Expedia Group brand), is a seasoned marketing and advertising professional with over fifteen years of experience on both the ad agency and client side of the business. For the past four years, she has managed global brand media strategy and planning for Hotels.com.

Shannon started her career working on the Dish Network digital media account at Carat in San Francisco, honing her digital marketing expertise during a pivotal time in the evolution of the media landscape. Following a move to Dallas to work at The Richards Group, she grew her experience planning across all media for a diverse set of regional and national brands like AAA, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Fruit of the Loom, MD Anderson, and Sub-Zero & Wolf. After five years as Group Media Director at TRG, Shannon took a position leading Hotels.com’s media strategy and planning in North America, which led to her current role.Alongside a busy professional career, Shannon occasionally served as an Adjust Professor in the Mayborn School of Journalism at The University of North Texas, teaching an advanced course in media and marketing.  Shannon is a prolific traveler and reader, and practices yoga consistently. She is passionate about causes aimed at mental health awareness and eliminating gender discrimination.
