Cheryl Overton is a creative instigator with a passion and purpose for designing integrated brand campaigns that honor the perspectives and experiences of multicultural audiences. She is the Founder and CXO of Cheryl Overton Communications (COC), a ‘streative’ advisory that helps brands achieve business goals via the voices, influence and persuasive power of multicultural audiences. With 20+ years of progressive experience, she has led notable brand initiatives including Unilever’s Dove “Campaign for Real Beauty” and the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women,” each ranked among the best of the best campaigns of the past 20 years by Ad Age and PR Week. Cheryl served as the senior African American strategist for “The Talk,” Procter & Gamble’s unprecedented, unexpected and groundbreaking campaign about racial bias. Last year, COC served as lead agency for Hologic’s entry into DTC advertising, spearheading an integrated women’s health campaign that debuted during the Super Bowl with a :30 spot featuring Mary J. Blige. Ms. Overton regularly speaks on the topics of diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural storytelling.
