Innovator — Kipp Jarecke Cheng

Kipp Jarecke-Cheng serves as Chief Communications Officer at Publicis Health, Publicis Groupe’s healthcare industry vertical. He brings more than 20 years of experience in content and creative development, public relations, and corporate communications. Kipp previously served as Head of Global Communications at Nurun, a Montréal-based digital design consultancy that was acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2015.

Prior to making the switch to marketing and communications, Kipp worked as a reporter and editor covering the intersections of pop culture, technology, media, and changing demographics at a variety of publications, including Adweek, DiversityInc, and Entertainment Weekly. An award-winning journalist, playwright and blogger, Kipp has been recognized with a nomination for excellence in journalism from the GLAAD Media Awards, as well as writing awards and fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Princess Grace Foundation, Jerome Foundation, and Van Lier Foundation. 

Kipp has been named among PR Week’s Pride in PR Leaders; The Propel 100’s Most Influential Health Communications Professionals in the World; and Involve and YouTube’s Top 100 List of Outstanding LGBTQ Role Models. He was a founding co-lead for Pan-Asian Alliance, Publicis Groupe’s BRG for employees of Pan-Asian descent and allies, and is a member of Publicis Parents and Égalité.

Kipp has spoken on the topic of 21st century fatherhood at the Dad 2.0 Conference and at the White House (at the request of then Vice President Joe Biden’s office); is a contributing writer at Baby Center, Tiny Beans, and What to Expect; a contributing business editor to the 2024 SAGE Encyclopedia; and is a former board member of Third Path Institute. Kipp is a graduate of Northwestern University, Columbia University School of the Arts, and Stanford Graduate Business School’s Executive Leadership Program. He lives in Maplewood, NJ, with his partner, Mark Jarecke, and their two children, Beckett and Aleksa.
