Meet the 2024 Fellows – Pooja Ranganathan
A storyteller at heart with a love for both cinema and strategy, Pooja Ranganathan always knew she loved data but also wanted to let her creative side shine. She started as a financial analyst and realized she could bring her skills to the industry. She combines her dual interests in qualitative and quantitative analysis to bring data-driven stories to life as a Campaign Analytics Manager at Vox Media.
Pooja previously worked at Dentsu, where she engaged in creative work marketing to Asian American consumers. She is proud to speak on behalf of her community in her professional career and contribute to campaigns that challenge stereotypes, particularly those affecting Asian American audiences. Pooja is passionate about using her platform to advocate for her community and ensure that their stories are told authentically.
Inspiration to join the fellowship came from Pooja’s former manager, who recommended it as an opportunity to foster connections in the industry and build community. Pooja values the powerful support network of women of color, sharing that her cohort and the fellowship have helped her build confidence and shared purpose.
Pooja’s passion for storytelling transcends her career and extends into her personal life. She has a huge love for film, having participated in the Virginia Film Festival, volunteered with the New York Film Festival, and even taken acting classes at The Second City. Her favorite movies include Fight Club, 500 Days of Summer, and Goodfellas, and you can often find her at her favorite theaters, AMC and Alamo Drafthouse.
Pooja believes that career growth isn’t linear. She encourages others to embrace any learning opportunities, stating, “any opportunity is an opportunity to grow.” Through the fellowship, she aims to continue building confidence and creating a space where her voice—and those of other women in the industry—truly matter.
