Meet The Fellows: Aminata B. Sow

A proud native of Detroit with Senegalese roots, Aminata B. Sow is an ever-evolving individual that understands that life is about a journey, not a destination.  A career that began in finance and transitioned into marketing has provided Aminata with a unique experience that has positioned her for continued growth.

Aminata serves as the Marketing and Strategy Lead at Hudson’s Bay Company where she develops marketing and strategy to drive vendor sourcing, e-Commerce, and in-store sales and spend optimization initiatives for a global retailer whose leading banners include Hudson’s Bay, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Saks Off Fifth. Her day consists of analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers for products and services to increase value for stakeholders and customers and collaborating with the internal legal team to broker contract negotiations and renewals between vendors and business stakeholders.

With a global perspective and entrepreneurial spirit, Aminata has developed a passion for the tech industry and plans to leverage technology to empower communities locally and globally. In her spare time, she loves to read, travel and volunteer. She believes in the mantra Sankofa, which means reaching back to pull forward and lives it through the scholarship she created for Howard University students that have provided funds for 6 individuals over the past 3 years with the help of her family, friends, and community.
