Icons & Rock Stars! – Tricia Clarke-Stone
Brooklyn-born Tricia Clarke-Stone is a twin who loves her sister but refuses to repeat in anything else. A boundary-pusher with a uniquely attuned business mind, Tricia brings her decades-long experience at the intersection of marketing, branding, tech, media and entertainment to the helm of newly minted content innovation studio, WP Narrative_ where she currently sits as CEO.
Before joining forces with the eponymous Hollywood hitmaker to create what is the branded content arm of Will Packer Media, Tricia’s tenure as cofounder and CEO of Narrative_ leaned into her cultural savvy, obsession with emerging tech, and ingenuity in storytelling as a way to connect brands and consumers. She has led award-winning campaigns for some of the world’s largest brands including Under Armour, Showtime, Samsung and JCPenney, and has led a team whose work has been honored at SXSW, Cannes Lions, The One, Show, NY Festivals, AICP, Clios and the Webby’s.
In finding creative ways to solve strategic business problems, Tricia has also built diverse monetization, business development, and IP models, and has led product innovation on proprietary products and patents – solutions that have transformed brands as well as media companies and platforms, startups, and talent.
The first business to transform under her vision was Emmis Communications, where she sparked a revolution in the ad sales division by identifying the importance of story and experience. At Emmis she launched new programs and built the company’s first digital division, helping agencies and brands such as PUMA, iTunes, Fox, and EA Sports create multilayered, cross-platform campaigns.
In 2009, Russell Simmons tapped Tricia to join his media company, Global Grind, where she was quickly promoted to co-president. There, she relaunched the platform, grew revenue by over 500%, and led over 100 cross-cultural, digital, social, and trans-media campaigns for brands like Toyota, Pepsi, P&G and AT&T. Furthering her gift for boundary-breaking storytelling, Tricia and Russell launched Narrative_ in 2013 with the goal of redefining the status quo in the advertising agency world.
A graduate of Skidmore College, Tricia’s visionary tactics have landed her spots on both AdAge and Crain’s New York 40 Under 40 lists, as well as numerous speaking engagements, discussing marketing’s role in tech, entertainment, fashion, and retail. She has been profiled in the New York Times, Fast Company, Elle, USA Today, Marie Claire, Forbes and Fortune.
