The Foundation: Year In Review
In 2020, the world was rocked by a number of pandemics, the first of which was COVID-19. To adjust to the times- where quarantine became our new normal- the Foundation joined the rest of the world in cultivating a new virtual reality. Throughout the year we persevered, delivering powerful content to the talent pipeline in a thoughtful and inclusive way. Please join us in celebrating the strides we’ve taken through our initiatives, in a lookback on 2020.
Black History Month
In February, The Foundation launched its 3rd annual social media campaign: “Icons, Rock Stars & Innovators”. The series recognized and celebrated outstanding industry professionals, during Black History Month. on February 26th we honored our talent with a reception and a parting gift from the AD Club. See some of the highlights below!
On March 13th, COVID-19 spiked and the world came to a halt. The AD Club quickly adjusted and became a Virtual Clubhouse

Bring Your Kid To Work (From Home) Day
On Thursday, April 23rd,The Foundation celebrated National Bring Your Kids To Work Day. McCann Worldgroup’s New York Parent Group partnered and joined us for a virtual career exploration event. Check it out!
The Virtual Lunch and Learn Academy
The AD Club Lunch & Learn Academy is designed to assist interns in making a successful transition from a college life to a professional life, by creating a curriculum designed to address real world competencies and skills. This summer our new virtual development series offered 10 weeks of 1.5-hour live web conferences in an intensive and highly interactive virtual format to juniors, seniors, and recent graduates.

Design an AD Competition
The Design an AD Challenge allowed the Foundation to introduce, engage, and teach students, grades 6th – 12th, about the art of persuasion – and careers in advertising – in a fun & creative competition with cash prizes & more! Congratulations to our winners:

17th Annual AD Futures Pitch Competition
Each year we partner with Virtual Enterprises International (VE), New York City Public Schools, and The AD Council, to transform students career goals through an experiential learning experience – promoting the industry of advertising, marketing, and media to students from underserved communities to broaden their career exploration and options.
On November 19th, we returned with our student teams and their pitch campaigns and a new creative brief: The Dangers of Vaping in Teens.
