On October 26th, i’mPART has launched a campaign called #imPARTofDIVERSITY.  The campaign is designed to create social awareness around the need for diversity in the advertising, marketing, and media industries.  Fancy Rhino has decided to stand up and be a part of this important and influential movement.

The i’mPART campaign is centered around the idea that “diversity isn’t just a number of percentage.  It isn’t just race, creed gender or sexual orientation. Diversity isn’t just a box to check or ‘the right thing to do’.  Diversity is inclusion, variety and different perspective.”

At Fancy Rhino, we believe in this notion wholeheartedly.  We believe our geographical, racial, and cultural differences are a huge reason why our company has, and will continue to succeed. Because of our diversity, we all bring a unique perspective to the table.  At Fancy Rhino, we embrace our differences and use them to push each other and grow together.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statics, of the 582,000 Americans employed in advertising and communications, less than half are women, 6.6% are black or African American, 5.7% are Asian and  10.5% are Hispanic. This seems counterintuitive. If the advertising industry requires us to communicate with consumers of all different types and backgrounds, our effectiveness as an agency depends on diversity in the workplace.

At Fancy Rhino, we are proud to say that if you walk into our office you will see that we working hard to eschew the above statistics. We make an effort to hire people of different cultural experiences, ages, genders, and lifestyles.  This gives use the insights and skills needed to evolve with demographic, technological, and social shifts in society today.

We hope that other agencies and businesses will join the #imPARTofDIVERSITY campaign.  If you would like to be part of the movement this week, make sure to check out i’mPART and change your social media pictures to show the world that you stand for diversity!
