Meet the 2024 Fellows – Alicia Lee
Alicia Lee’s non-traditional journey into advertising has enabled her to make an incredible impact into her current role as Director of Customer Experience at Teads. After a decade in retail management, she returned to school to earn a digital marketing certificate. While there, a friend introduced her to a job in OOH (out of home) advertising, and she hasn’t looked back since. “I actually fell into this industry,” Alicia laughs, reflecting on how chance encounters can sometimes lead to the most fulfilling paths.
What drives Alicia most is helping others recognize and leverage their unique talents, guiding them toward achieving their goals. She is known for leading with empathy, “It’s at the heart of my decision-making,” she shares, while balancing this approach with the business’s needs. In a field that demands resilience, Alicia is proud to provide a space where authenticity and kindness remain central to her leadership.
Looking to the future, Alicia hopes to make an impact for women of color in advertising. Her aspiration is to serve on the boards of nonprofits, offering a voice and support for the next generation. Alicia is passionate about mentoring aspiring women in the industry, understanding how important it is to have guidance at every career stage. “I want to be that sounding board, showing them that they can elevate and succeed,” she emphasizes.
Outside of work, Alicia finds inspiration in travel and running, where the freedom and focus remind her to stay grounded. Her personal mantra, “Just be kind always, in all ways,” encapsulates her approach to life and work alike, reflecting a commitment to empathy that Alicia brings into every interaction.
