Meet the 2024 Fellows – Maulana Moore

 

A headshot of 2024-2025 Fellow Maulana Moore.With a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Hampton University, a distinguished HBCU, Maulana Moore originally envisioned a career as an international correspondent, inspired by icons like Christiane Amanpour and Gwen Ifill. However, a leap of faith into ad sales at NBC revealed a new passion. “While I miss journalism sometimes, I appreciate that I’m still able to do storytelling in advertising,” she shares. Today, as an Agency Alliances Manager at AppsFlyer, Maulana is known for building partnerships that elevate her clients’ brands while fostering authentic connections across the industry. 

A strong advocate for workplace inclusivity, Maulana has been instrumental in creating spaces of belonging through employee resource groups (ERGs) at every stage of her career. From Black History Trivia Fridays at NBC to annual school supply drives at Moat, she prioritizes initiatives that bring balance to employee experience and work responsibilities. Guided by the golden rule—treating others as she would like to be treated—Maulana leads with kindness and respect, essential qualities that help her build trust and genuine relationships with both clients and colleagues. 

Her favorite quote by Maya Angelou, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give,” resonates deeply with her, especially as an HBCU graduate. “I want to be an instrumental part of bringing humanity back to advertising,” Maulana says, capturing her commitment to fostering empathy and authenticity in an industry often driven by metrics. Outside of work, she’s a full-time mom to her toddler, embracing moments of creativity and connection through activities like crafting and hairstyling, which she finds therapeutic and a meaningful bonding experience. Her playful side shines through, too: “Ask me how to make the best batch of slime!” she jokes.

As she looks toward the future, Maulana aims to solidify her role as a connector in the advertising world, bridging brands and agencies to help them implement thoughtful, full-funnel marketing strategies. With a genuine passion for lifting others up, Maulana continues to embody the values she holds dear, giving back and building pathways for the next generation.
